Nature's Resurgence
French Creek Nature Center and Theatre (map)
March 1 - March 31, 2024
"Nature's Resurgence" is a solo exhibition that encapsulates the transformative journey of Rachel Mentzer during the challenging times of the pandemic. The collection features a series of collagraphs, each a meticulous fusion of recycled materials, intaglio printing techniques, and vibrant chine collé backgrounds.
The repurposed iHealth COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test boxes become both a canvas and a commentary on the paradoxical relationship between a manufactured crisis and the resilience of the natural world. Through Rachel's eyes, viewers are invited to witness the harmony and discord, the chaos and tranquility, coexisting in each intricately carved plate.

Entwined
Kaiser Gallery (map)
October 19 - November 4, 2023
Entwined explores the theme of connectivity inspired by the natural world and the way we interact with it. The exhibit will feature several artists whose work is connected by a common thread: their interest in nature and its influence on our lives. They have all created pieces that explore this idea in different ways—from sculptures to paintings, from installations to photographs—but they all share a common goal: to show how interconnected we are with each other and with nature as a whole.
This exhibit aims to challenge viewers to think about how they interact with their environment and how it affects them as individuals and as members of society at large. It's an opportunity for us all to consider ways that we can better understand ourselves through understanding nature; how we can improve our relationships with each other through improving our relationships with the natural world around us; how we can come together as people by coming together in appreciation for all that binds us together despite our differences; and perhaps most importantly, what makes us truly human?
